Madhukar Angur on Employee Engagement

Madhukar Angur, the chancellor of Alliance University brings forth the essence of employee engagement and how a lack of employee engagement costs an organization as he says: “It is important that an organization should ensure that the employee is fully involved in, and enthusiastic about, his work.

Although improved performance and productivity is at the heart of engagement, it cannot be achieved by a mechanistic approach which tries to extract discretionary effort by manipulating employees’ commitment and emotions. Employees see through such attempts very quickly; they lead instead to cynicism and disillusionment. By contrast, engaged employees freely and willingly give discretionary effort, not as an ‘add on’, but as an integral part of their daily activity at work.

Alliance University looks forward to include the fundamentals of employee engagement strategies as a part of their curriculum in order to stress on the need and importance of high employee engagement in the success of an organization.Raising employee engagement has become one of the highest priorities for organizations all around the globe, according to a 2015 Conference Board CEO study.
