Micro Management Vs Macro Management : Dr Madhukar Angur

There are different types of management styles as Macro and Micro Management. In business management, micromanagement is a management style where a manager closely observes or controls the work of their employees.
The term has a negative connotation because an employee may feel that the micro manager is being condescending towards them, due to a perceived lack of faith in the employee's competency. After being micromanaged, your staff will begin to depend on you, rather than having the confidence to perform tasks on their own. Micromanagement makes your team feel like they can no longer handle the work without your constant guidance. You have to remember that those employees were initially hired because they brought something to the table; skills, talents and insights all unique to each and every staff member.

Madhukar Angur

In contrast to giving general instructions on smaller tasks while supervising larger concerns, the micro manager monitors and assesses every step. And Macro Management is entirely opposite of this  As in Macro style there is better level of Control. Macro management is anything very large scale, scope or capability, large controlling strategy.
The macro manager has confidence that he or she has hired competent workers who can complete the same task without being continually reminded of the process.

Tips to Crack CAT by Dr Madhukar Angur

Being a Professor Madhukar Angur would like to advice my students about how to aim CAT Exam 2015 . Nowadays almost all institutions conduct competitive entrance exams for selection of cream and best best candidate. And to clear such exams you need to understand your strengths and weaknesses .

I always say that "He who fails to plan, plans to fail", so one should always strategize a plan on how we can convert our weakness into strengths. These tests are also to check your time management ability that how efficiently you can manage .

I suggest my students to practice in writing and giving full mock tests as when u feel confident that u have prepared main topics. I have also noticed that some people have English as their weakness , so to them my advice is that develop habit to read newspaper , magazines from articles ranging history to current technology. This will definitely enhance your word power and knowledge.

Another important point is focusing on 100% accuracy . As such exams have negative marking students should try to fetch maximum out of Quantitative , logical sections. Eliminating unreasonable options is also a option one can adopt.

Students should really have to be cautious about the fact that which questions to attempt and which to leave because your score matters on choice of question you make .

All the Best students .

Illuistration Benefits of Risk Management by Madhukar Angur

Risk Management is the process of identifying, analyzing and responding to risk factors throughout the life of a project and in the best interests of its objectives. Proper risk management implies control of possible future events and is proactive rather than reactive.

The Risk Analysis Process is essentially a quality problem solving process. Quality and assessment tools are used to determine and prioritize risks for assessment and resolution.
The risk analysis process is as follows:

Identify the Risk: This step is brainstorming. Reviewing the lists of possible risk sources as well as the project team’s experiences and knowledge, all potential risks are identified.
Assess the Risk: Traditional problem solving often moves from problem identification to problem solution. However, before trying to determine how best to manage risks, the project team must identify the root causes of the identified risks.
Develop Responses to the Risk: Now the project team is ready to begin the process of assessing possible remedies to manage the risk or possibly, prevent the risk from occurring.
Develop a Contingency Plan or Preventative Measures for the Risk: The project team will convert into tasks, those ideas that were identified to reduce or eliminate risk likelihood.

Madhukar Angur on Employee Engagement

Madhukar Angur, the chancellor of Alliance University brings forth the essence of employee engagement and how a lack of employee engagement costs an organization as he says: “It is important that an organization should ensure that the employee is fully involved in, and enthusiastic about, his work.

Although improved performance and productivity is at the heart of engagement, it cannot be achieved by a mechanistic approach which tries to extract discretionary effort by manipulating employees’ commitment and emotions. Employees see through such attempts very quickly; they lead instead to cynicism and disillusionment. By contrast, engaged employees freely and willingly give discretionary effort, not as an ‘add on’, but as an integral part of their daily activity at work.

Alliance University looks forward to include the fundamentals of employee engagement strategies as a part of their curriculum in order to stress on the need and importance of high employee engagement in the success of an organization.Raising employee engagement has become one of the highest priorities for organizations all around the globe, according to a 2015 Conference Board CEO study.

Bangalore Universities Employing from Industry

The Academic-Industry Relationships is not the recent concept which is now I trend in Bangalore but has been in tradition from past . Academic Institutions are not at all lagging behind Industry when it comes to high perks. New-aged Private universities are pooling talent from the Industry by offering them not only attractive pay scales that is difficult to come in the competitive corporate world. Linkages between academic institutions and industry are often viewed with suspicion and disdain because the motivations and cultures of the two participants are quite different. Both fields have different desired demands like self knowledge is important for academic industry but in Professional Industry efficient production and delivery of goods and services in a marketplace is desirable. As Universities are largely recognized as the marketplace of ideas where knowledge is pursued, so it is the duty of the management of the Academic Institutions to hire the best from the Industry. Some people also leave corporate jobs as they rise in the hierarchy, the stress and pressure is too high to handle which leads to ultimate depressions .
Madhukar Angur

In Alliance University, Karnataka's first private university, 30 per cent of the fulltime faculty comes from the industry. Madhukar Angur, the University's Chancellor said that "Universities are aggressive in hiring are aggressive in hiring good faculty because that kind of investment is available in the private sector.”. It’s really is a big question of choosing between the professionally-qualified and academically-qualified people.

From the feedback of such people hired in Bangalore Universities  that they are much more satisfied than Industry as now they lead a good work-life balance. University job is also a kind of service to  society as the students are future of nation and society .

Career tips by Dr Madhukar Angur

                                                     Madhukar Angur

I Madhukar Angur as a teacher understands my responsibilities that my students should be able to choose correct profession . As choosing a career is a dilemma for many . Students generally don’t realize their skills , interests and aptitude , personality preferences .  Sometimes, the person doesn’t know him or herself well enough to make a specific career or college major choice. First the person should realize what he or she would like to do . Then one should understand about his / her chosen career’s objectives , demands , growth opportunities.

                                              Madhukar Angur

One should know all these answers about various traits of his / her personality like :

SKILLS: What are your personal strengths and weakness?
INTERESTS: What sorts of activities and subjects do you find interesting?
STYLE: What style of work environment are you looking for?
VALUES: What values are important to you in your ideal career?

Students can also go for Personality tests  so that they can decide the Profile they want to opt for . So, choose wisely and select a field that enriches your talent as much  as possible.
